Most gamers have been waiting for more news on the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online mmorpg. Testing at various stages has been and gone, the game is ready to launch on April 4th for PC and MAC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users will have to wait until June. There are physical and digital versions available with pre-purchase unlocking access to the servers a full five days early. Physical or digital, you will have to choose between the Imperial and Standard edition. The imperial edition comes with a host of extra goodies to temp you to spend. You get a cool white horse to ride around on, a mud crab pet to follow you around, a buddy quest to get bonus exp when grouped, you can “play as an Imperial and play in any Alliance. You gain unique bonuses, crafting styles, gear and more!”

To me it sounds like the standard edition gets you in game, then you feel bad about all the bonuses you are missing out on. You can of course pay extra to upgrade at any point, should you fall sufficiently behind.

This autumn, WoW players around the globe will be able to dive into Warcraft’s brutal past when the latest expansion; Warlords of Draenor charges into stores worldwide. Player’s can pre-order the expansion digitally at www.worldofwarcraft.com/warlords. Players who pre-purchase will receive their character boost to level 90, active immediately. For an mmorpg that has been going so long I love that they introduced this level boost feature, it allows new players to join their friends quickly, and for existing players to try a new style.

This is the fifth expansion to the World of Warcraft mmorpg. It leads players to the untamed world of Draenor, where the orc warchief Grommash Hellscream is forging his twisted Iron Horde into a world-shattering weapon of conquest. Faced with seemingly insurmountable odds, the champions of the Horde and the Alliance must establish a base of operations on Draenor and seek out courageous allies to make a stand against Hellscream’s mighty war machine.

“We’re sending players deep into uncharted territory with Warlords of Draenor,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “New features like the Garrison will give players a commanding role in the Warcraft saga like never before, and everyone can get in on the action right away with the included level-90 boost. The German indie developer The Games Foundation has successfully launched the open beta for their mobile mmo; Hyperion Online. The game is designed specifically for tablets and smartphones, it’s free to play and set in outer space. It’s available free now for android, with versions for iOS, Windows Phone and other platforms confirmed to be released soon.

In the role of a renegade star-ship captain, players take the helm of a mighty star-ship, venture forth into the depths of outer space, and discover countless star systems and planets. Asteroids floating in space can be mined for valuable mineral ore, which can be traded with other players. When visiting star bases, players can spend the ore to upgrade the weapons, armor plating, repair devices and engine boosters of their star-ship, or even have an entirely new star-ship manufactured for them from scratch. In addition, crew members can be recruited and trained at those star bases to improve their combat skills and defend your ship against space pirates that try to steal the valuable mineral ores.

Players can also take on missions or attack other starship captains in action-packed space combat until they explode in a burst of nuclear fire. Hunt other players for bounty points, rise to the top of the leaderboard, and become the most feared starship pilot in the universe! In the course of the game, players can also join forces with friends and go bounty-hunting together. Player clans can conquer entire star systems to gain control over the ore deposits, and charge concession fees from other players for ores mined in these sectors. A large-scale war for dominance over the galactic sectors thus unfolds.

Tiger Knight is a new arena based combat game, which boasts battles of large proportions. It’s set in the Three Kingdoms era of feudal China. This time was filled with war, many famous names were made in this time. Players take control of a general and lead their units in battle against other players.

The game is action packed but extremely strategic too. Victory will rely heavily on engaging the correct units and using all the environment to your advantage. You will unlock more equipment as you play, so the more experienced you are, the more deadly your units can become.

The developers have put time and research into historical battles from units and their equipment, all the way to what the terrain was like during these historical clashes. You will play famous historical battles and wage war in authentic battlegrounds.

Older players of the Korean version will remember the days before jumping in Mabinogi. It was added two years ago and brought it’s own share of bugs. Of course many people would continue to exploit them, that’s how it goes with games!

Some games benefit from bugs, GunZ is a perfect example and a personal favourite. In this case the developers disagree, it’s being patched out so things like certain boss fights will go more as intended.

I can’t blame them for wanting to take it out. I’m always one for trying to find bugs in games, but it doesn’t always benefit the game to keep them in. It will be interesting to see how many people quit after the bugs are gone, I don’t think it will hurt the Mabinogi player population much.

If you don’t already know about it, Hearthstone is a collectible card game based on the Warcraft lore. Fans of the series will recognise characters from the games in many cards.

Hearthstone is currently in open beta but Blizzard have already updated their rules and guidelines for official tournaments, particularly for those offering prizes of $10,000 or more. Anyone interested will need to apply for an official community licence, you can find out more about that here.

The SKARA team have released a new Alpha video featuring game play in the new Lava Coliseum arena. The playable demo is set in a lava-filled arena deep inside the Rhozha Mountains—the home of the barbarian Khärn tribe.

With eight solid months of development under its belt, SKARA is now focusing its efforts on completing their playable demo to be released on STEAM early access within the next few weeks.

“Players will finally be able to get a feeling for SKARA game play,” said Pablo Rodriguez, CEO and Creative Director of Skara, talking about the release. “The character control will feel like that in a versus game”

“After a lot of thought, we decided the best way for people to think about SKARA was as: A versus fighting game…for sixteen players” he said. “The team and I have been playing it for a few weeks now—and we are very addicted so get ready for the early access!”

Royal Revolt 2 is different because not only do you play defensively by building up the protection en-route to your base, you can also attack other players in the game! Webzen have released a new class for Continent of the ninth seal (C9). The new class is the Nightstalker, they have powerful summoning abilities and can absorb their own summons for special attacks. This new advanced class for is a progression for the Witchblade class and is now available for all players.

The Nightstalker is a mid-range class that utilises powerful summoning and absorbing attacks whilst wielding a two handed chain blade. With combinations of the skills summon and absorb, they allow you to summon powerful servants to fight for you during the battle and absorb the servants to improve your status and allow you to cause tons of damage.

Whenever a Nighstalker absorbs a servant, they will be able to temporarily use a powerful and unique ability, this changes with each summon.

Anyone who gets their Nightstalker to level 50 or higher before March 26th will receive special prizes. All details about the award can be found via the official website.
