Alien Bases Arrive on Astro Lords: Oort Cloud

Astro Lords

The BISBOG Group just announced a stellar new game play element for Astro Lords: Oort Cloud, their free-to-play science fiction MMOG. Alien bases are now available for players to discover, battle and defend against incoming attacks. Alien starbases and ships are powerful adversaries, possessing advanced weaponry and tactics, and are prepared for vicious battle with the Astro Lords. They’ve already begun raiding bases throughout the Oort Cloud and players should be on-guard, if not proactively seeking out alien territories via spies or radar.

In addition to these powerful new adversaries, Astro Lords also recently added new trade stations, where players can deal in ammunition, microchips and credits.

Claire Baert, Project Manager at BISBOG, said, “Alien bases and trade stations are just the first in a series of new gameplay elements to be introduced to Astro Lords over the coming months. These new features will keep players on their toes and ensure that the Oort Cloud remains an unpredictable and exciting place to explore.”

In Astro Lords, players build their own asteroid bases, send spies out to enemy territory, and shoot at other spaceships in drag-and-click arcade style PvP combat. These combat mechanics will appeal to anyone who loves arcade shooters like Space Invaders or artillery games like Worms.

Das Tal Steam Greenlight and Alpha Footage and Pics

das tal

Fairytale Distillery has made the decision to move full force with Das Tal onto Steam Greenlight (vote here). This means that you can now head over to show your support and help the game become available on Steam in the near future. The new Steam page hosts a lot of information that will help give voters an idea of what they can expect from Das Tal. Sign-ups for alpha testing are also currently open using this form (sign up here), so there is still the opportunity to try the game out now in its very early stages.

From the July alpha tests comes a first look at some very early Das Tal gameplay. The current test world allows closed alpha testers face off as part of two teams trying to control the desert themed world. So far, although only early combat systems and plenty of placeholder visuals are being used, the testers have obviously had a lot of fun participating in the fast-paced PvP MMORPG.

The July tests went off without a hitch, and more are planned for this month. Fairytale Distillery have moved away from mixed test times and decided to have regular test sessions every Sunday for the month of August. They will also slowly start to increase the numbers of players allowed into each game round as their game servers and gameplay evolves. You can view full details of the alpha test plan on the Das Tal website (official website).

Armored Warfare Gamescon Trailer and Screenshots

armored warfare

Armored Warfare, a free-to-play massively multiplayer online tactical military video game that puts you in control of modern tanks, armored vehicles and more. Obsidian Entertainment & My.com have released a new trailer.

In Armored Warfare, arms suppliers are independent dealers who are willing to sell vehicles from their catalogues to players that lead their own military corporations. However, they are not going to offer arms to just anyone. Players need to build up their reputation with the dealer through victory on the battlefield; only then will they have access to the most powerful machinery.

Aside from dealer branches, vehicles will also be combined into blocks that share a common parameter, such as country, region, class, manufacturer, role in battle, play style, armament, etc. Players will always have access to the first vehicle of all dealers (the starting block) once that dealer is unlocked, but all other blocks for that dealer must be unlocked. This unlocking could require that certain achievements be completed, such as defeating a certain number of enemies with a particular tank, or inflicting a set amount of damage with a given weapon. This will prove your worth to the dealer, and they will unlock a new block of vehicles, where each vehicle can be subsequently unlocked.

skara

8-Bit, the indie development studiohave announced that a Steam Early Access build of its revolutionary F2P multiplayer online versus (MOV) hack em up, ‘SKARA: The Blade Remains’, will launch on 9th October, 2014. The studio has confirmed that the Early Access build will cost £11/$19/€14 and the proceeds will go directly to help finish development of the game.

“Our Steam Early Access launch will help completely finish off the initial phase of development on Skara” commented Pablo Rodriguez, Creative Director at 8-Bit. “With a launch date of early 2015 in mind, we’re excited to get the first proper version of our game changing f2p in front of a whole new audience. We can’t wait to find out what they think!”

Skara was Greenlit by Steam’s community in just 8 days of the campaign launch and also recently completed a successful Kickstarter earlier in 2014. With Epic’s ‘Unreal4 Engine’ beating at the heart of this title, Skara will hopefully have a great balance between amazing graphics and fast paced game play.

World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor New Cinematic Trailer

Blizzard have just released a new cinematic trailer to the Warlords of Dreanor, which is coming to the World of Warcraft later this year. It’s a pretty exciting CGI clip and it really sets the tone for the new content.

Return to a savage world, Garrosh Hellscream has escaped through the Dark Portal and forged the orc clans of old into a terrifying war machine known as the Iron Horde. Take your place on the front lines of the battle for Draenor 11.13.14.

If that wasn’t enough they’ve also released part 1 of 5 from their new five-part series, Lords of War. It introduces you to some of the major players in the campaign on Draenor—beginning with the sadistic Kargath Bladefist, leader of the Shattered Hand.

Albion Online New Trailers and Founder Packs

Albion Online

The team over at Sandbox Interactive have been very busy. They’ve released two new trailers, the first includes trailer footage with interviews from the devs. They really clear up what the game is about, I think the open scope is fantastic, I’m looking forwards to seeing how it plays out on release.

Founder packs have been added to their website, they offer guaranteed access to the closed beta testing, and varied access to the alpha stages alongside a few other bits, find out more here.

So check out some new in game footage, and here what the developers of Albion Online have to say, it seems like it is going to be a greatly player driven game. The open PvP, the player driven economy, player built towns, etc. And obviously, the multi-platform gaming is one thing I really like the sound of.

Dragoturkey and Dragosteed Pet-Mounts Come to Wakfu

wakfu

Mounts and mount customisation of mounts comes to Wakfu! Not only can you get hold of a Dragoturkey or Drago-Steed but you can customise these creatures in order to match your characters.

The two types mounts have different appearances and stat bonuses. You can get a Dragoturkey from a quest and you can buy the ‘steeds from the cash shop.

  •     Trained Dragoturkey of Precision: +40% single target damage / +25% movement speed
  •     Trained Dragoturkey of Range: +40% range damage / +25% movement speed
  •     Trained Dragoturkey of Destruction: +40% AoE damage / +25% movement speed
  •     Trained Dragoturkey of Melee: +40% melee damage / +25% movement speed

The Drago-Steeds have increased speed. To be honest that’s a pay feature I don’t like, I prefer games to have cosmetic choices in their cash shops, but hopefully the speed increase doesn’t upset the game.

  •     Drago-Steed of Precision: +40% single target damage / +50% movement speed
  •     Drago-Steed of Range: +40% range damage / +50% movement speed
  •     Drago- Steed of Destruction: +40% AoE damage / +50% movement speed
  •     Drago-Steed of Melee: +40% melee damage / +50% movement speed

These mounts can be customized in the same way as a pet. To this day, you can have four symbolic harnesses of the four nations, which are compatible with all mounts and that you can get via a quest in the game:

  •     The Bonta Harness
  •     The Brakmar Harness
  •     The Amakna Harness
  •     The Sufokia Harness

There is also a special harness which is compatible only with the Drago-Steed and only available in the shop, The Obsidian Harness.

Before prancing around holding the reins of your faithful Drago (Turkey or Steed), with your hair in the wind under a summer sun, you will have to get your “Petsmount Permit”. A level 35 quest in Astrub will give you the permit.
