CCP Games, one of the the world’s leading independent massively multiplayer game developer, today reluctantly acknowledged a long-term secret project after whispers of it started circulating amid the world’s martial combat elite. The shadowy, morally questionable program reportedly mixed genetic manipulation and intense psychological training over many years and was designed to prepare several of CCP’s video game development staff for actual physical combat against famed mixed-martial arts (MMA) fighter Gunnar “Gunni” Nelson (12-0-1). They will face off in the EVE OF DESTRUCTION event held duringon Friday night (20:00 UTC on 2 May) of the three-day long EVE Fanfest 2014.

Nelson, a world class Brazillian jiu-jitsu specialist, is arguably the greatest champion to arise from Iceland’s rich Viking heritage in the past several centuries. He responded to the news with a cold, emotionless stare.

During EVE OF DESTRUCTION, Nelson will face off against CCP Games staff members and special guests in 10 back-to-back, one-versus-one wrestling matches in a fighting cage on loan from Mjölnir MMA Gym, his home training ground. The winner of each match is determined by submission, with unlimited time per round and only enough time between rounds for the introduction of the next competitor.

“The fighting itself will be very serious,” said Ragnar “CCP Loki” Eðvaldsson, the fight’s promoter. “We aim to defeat this world-class athlete and the team has been training hard for many months at Mjölnir to do so. What is the distance between a person at the top of the pyramid and those who strive to get there? Tune in to find out.”

Sveinn “CCP Guard/Mister G” Kjarval, who wears several hats as Community Developer for EVE Online, lead singer of Permaband and merciless coach of the CCP team, describes the EVE OF DESTRUCTION event as the “single greatest spectacle of athleticism” ever conceived, rivaled only by the “Brain vs. Pain” Chessboxing match held at Fanfest 2011. He promises “flailing, half-strength maneuvers” from his disciples that will “possibly, eventually have a 2% chance at best of causing this human tornado of devastation to pause and laugh just long enough that we get super lucky.”

Nelson responded with his trademark cold, emotionless stare.

Reality Squared Games (R2Games), have announced their second Cross-Server Tournament. It’s set to start tomorrow, April 23rd at 10pm, relative to each specific server time (i.e. 10pm US East, 10pm US West, etc.). Players will be able to compete against server champions across all League of Angels servers.

Following the test of the first Tournament last month, this second Tournament is even more highly anticipated by players as it will feature a wide variety of prizes. R2Games is inviting everyone to take part in their largest cross-server battle yet.

Just shy of 3 weeks after its official public launch, The Elder Scrolls Online (TESO) has come under scrutiny for its latest and much considered “Game Breaking” glitch. The bug has already saw an influx of players to be in full legendary gear and harvesting billions gold making the economy as it seems now, worthless. A recent post on Reddit notes that the bug has been publicly known for over a week now (apparently since launch) and players are concerned for the lack of communication between Zenimax Studios and the current loyal fan base it has collected in such a short space of time.

H1Z1 is the highly anticipated survival horror MMORPG, coming soon from SONY. I have VERY high hopes for this game. If you have visited their rather ominous home page you will have been met by the spooky music and cool background. Until recently there was little confirmed but SONY have spilled the beans, if they deliver, it will be fantastic.

H1Z1 is a post apocalyptic survival game, it’s set fifteen years after a catastrophic outbreak. You are a survivor with a whole lot of options in the new zombie infested world. You will be able to wander the land and pretty much play as you choose in this new world. A large focus has been put on allowing players to play in the style they really want to.

I know for sure I’ll be wandering the land finding out what useful tools and materials I can salvage. I love the idea of being able to manipulate and use your environment as you choose. I’m picturing a base in the woods, large enough for a few people and our hidden supplies.

Aeria Games have just released a new game mode for their popular Shooter, Alliance of Valiant Arms (A.V.A). The new Infection-Z mode comes along with the new Awaken map, a huge combat space which is filled with new features to help propel your troops into battle.

Deep in the woods of Slovakia, the Neo-Russian Federation (NRF) set up an industrial compound in order to test biochemical weapons. However, their plans backfired when something went wrong and a number of the staff became infected with a virus, turning them into zombies and making them a danger to themselves and others.

A.V.A players can enter the Awaken map and make it their mission to destroy the virus. The large map has a number of points of strategic value for players to make use of in battle, such as ramps, jump pads and cranes. Players can also spawn from the air and drop down onto the map, as in the popular Airborne mode, and can take the form of the Reaper, a new character with a huge scythe as his weapon of choice.

Players also have the chance to benefit from a new round of the Mega Capsule 4, the perfect chance to win up to 21 brand new, permanent weapons. Every spin of the wheel is a guaranteed win for the player.

The new Awaken map is now available to A.V.A players and is free to play.

The apocalyptic fantasy sandbox MMORPG, Xsyon is now available on two aptly named servers: War and Peace. War is the original and PvP server, Peace is the newly launched PvE server. With this highly requested and anticipated move, Xsyon reaches out to wider audience catering to players who enjoy fantasy sandbox games both with and without player conflict.

The new Peace (PvE) Server does not allow player versus player combat or looting and encourages players who wish to build a new society in a friendly atmosphere. The original server, now the War (PvP) Server continues to allow player versus player combat and looting and will encourage risk and conflict.

Data from the original main world has been duplicated to both servers, allowing players the choice to play on either or both servers. New players can maintain a character on both servers as well.
