Dr.Dimitrie Mihaylov is CSO of Farcana and an associate professor who also provides his expertise in the UN as an expert contractor. We talked about the features of the Play-to-Hash model that underpins Farcana’s economy, as well as how the immersive approach will evolve in games.

Q. Web3 technology started embracing gaming projects. Is Farcana doing anything to integrate it into its game infrastructure?

A. Farcana focuses exclusively on Web3 as our main difference from others. We integrate all elements of Web3 and bring our unique patented algorithm Play-to-Hash into it.

It is important that this algorithm goes far beyond Farcana. It is a totally new thing connecting Web3 games and miners worldwide. Farcana and our mining pool are just the beginning. Connection of external mining pools and, of course, other games is ahead.

Q. What is an immersive platform, and how does it work?

A. It is extremely important for us to change the game. Immersiveness is not a very common thing in the gaming industry these days. Game projects are not actively integrating new devices, such as vests and gloves with physical feedback. To add this functionality, you have to rewrite the game code. Not everyone is willing to invest that much effort.

The Farcana architecture allows any plug-and-play device to be connected instantly. We are very proud of it, and other game projects have already approached us to license our module. It is important to note that we have already integrated the leading players in this market regarding device manufacturers. We also use this big data from our players to improve the accuracy of immersive devices.

Q. Which current Farcana developments would you emphasize as the most significant and why?

A. We have integrated the Play-to-Hash engine into the game and connected the miners. So far, it works in our mini version of the game in Telegram. You can already check out the Immersive engine in the main game: devices from the world’s leading manufacturers, such as Haptic, OURA and others, are supported. In addition, we are proud that we integrated the first version of the sound generation module with an artificial intelligence system into the game.Thanks to this, the game sounds are approximated for each player.

Q.. How do AI-generated 3D sounds differ from 3D stereo?

A. We have a unique approach, as the sounds are generated situationally in real time. As well as the player’s emotions.

Another important and unique feature of our work is that we can read data from wearable devices. For example, we are currently reading data from the OURA Ring, which measures the player’s pulse and adapts the sounds and music to his emotional state. This approach has not yet been used in any game. Moreover, film producers became interested in the module because they had never seen anything like that.

Q. Does Farcana collect any of the player’s psychological data to improve the future gaming experiences? How is this performed?

A. Yes, this is what sets Farcana apart from other games. We are very proud of the fact that we managed to establish cooperation with scientists from leading universities. They were primarily interested in working with the huge amount of player data.

I must say right away that we are cautious about the processing of personal data. We integrate all requirements and regulations: GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2, and others. Data security is crucial for us. Biological data is processed on the territories of the players’ countries, and UAE players’ data is processed on servers in the Emirates.

We are grateful to all of our players and proud of them. They understand that their data improves the game and agree to share it with us. They are true revolutionaries in the field of gaming – open and collaborative.

Q. It is easy to imagine how the game can interact with the sight and hearing senses, but how is it executed technically?

A. Well, it is not so easy. We use BCI to capture feedback, as well as various sensors. I already mentioned the OURA ring. We also use OpenBCI headsets to get data on how the player’s brain reacts to certain game elements.

Q. Tell us more about your in-game economic model and how is it executed?

A. As a Play-to-Hash title, Farcana offers a few ways of earning both in-game assets and Bitcoin. Here, players can earn:

  • Native $FARCANA token by participating in events & simple tournaments and selling loot on the marketplace;
  • In-game NFTs by joining events and scoring in simple tournaments;
  • Bitcoins by winning grand tournaments.

Q. Are you going to distribute the Play-to-Hash model mentioned above to other game projects as a licensed product?

A. ​​Yes, as I said, other games are already approaching us to license our module. And this is great since it is an obvious sign of uniqueness, value, and demand compared to other companies.
