MMO fans will be well aware of how the gaming world has evolved in the past couple of decades. The quality of experiences on offer has gone to a whole new level – not just in MMOs, but in many other areas too.
Gaming also seems to be more accessible than ever before, as the days of needing specialist equipment and controllers to play are long gone. Many people can simply access titles on smartphones and tablets, with apps giving them a whole range of options to consider.
Many experiences available
It is a simple fact that there is a huge number of gaming experiences available on mobile devices these days.
Of course, there are options if you are into MMOs. For example, as we have discussed elsewhere, Albion Online now has a mobile version. The game can be downloaded from both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Elsewhere, you can experience action-packed titles on mobile, including famous franchises like Call of Duty. Sports options are also available, including the official title F1 Mobile Racing.

Another area that has embraced the mobile world is the online casino industry. The domain has really thrived in recent years and it has truly gone global, with a host of brands operating in many different countries. This trend is highlighted by sites in countries like France suggesting they are the “meilleur casino en ligne en France“, offering a range of slot machines such as Magic Apple or Book of the Dead. This site details how its games can be accessed on both smartphones and tablets and how it gives access to special welcome bonuses to new users. It adds that players can use the same casino ID to play on mobile, while they can also make deposits and withdrawals.
Designing games from the ground up to be compatible with mobile devices had proven to be a positive move. The casino en ligne industry is now thriving because of this improved accessibility and usability.
Against this backdrop, it is interesting to see some new figures emerge in relation to the world of mobile gaming.
Earlier this month, Newzoo revealed some key statistics from its Global Games Market Report. It found that revenues in the sector will pass $200 billion for the first time this year, while player numbers are set to pass the three-billion mark as well. The report added that mobile game revenues will pass the $100 billion mark in 2022, as they are set to grow by around 5.1 per cent year on year.
Newzoo also revealed that Asia-Pacific is the largest games region by absolute revenues, while it added that markets across Latin America and Southeast Asia will be major contributors to mobile growth this year. This will be driven by factors including increasing access to both games and devices.
Thriving in many forms
The days of having to switch on a console or PC to play video games are well and truly over. Sure, you can still do that, but there is also the option of reaching for your phone or tablet for a high-quality experience.
Mobile gaming is thriving in many forms and these new figures suggest that the area is continuing to reach new heights. It will be fascinating to see how the industry continues to develop in the months and years ahead.
