Virtually everyone has heard of World of Warcraft. If you’ve ever reached WoW’s end game content, you know there’s a lot of things to do after gearing up, be it PvP, PvE, or anything else, for that matter.

Among millions of people who play the game, there is a handful of those who play it at the highest level. They continuously compete in various tournaments, presenting us, mere mortals, with the chance to watch how to play World of Warcraft. At the same time, it allows us to bet on those players or elite teams and cash in on our knowledge of the game.

If you’d like to give it a try, here’s what you can expect.

PvP Arena Betting

There are several ways to PvP in WoW. For example, you can duel against someone of the same faction, do battlegrounds, world PvP against the opposite faction, and in the most recent expansion, Battle for Azeroth, you can do PvP Island Expeditions. However, at the highest level, it is only the arenas that are played competitively.

In order to qualify for the Arena World Championship, teams from all over the world have to compete in their regions first. Speaking of the championship, it is held every year during BlizzCon, and includes teams of three players (or more, if you count the substitutes), duking it out in the Arena for a chance to become the world champions.

PvE Betting

PvE betting has a slightly different format. Namely, instead of playing against each other, players who are a part of the same guild have to work together to defeat end-raid bosses. There are several different raiding difficulties, but only the mythic difficulty counts when it comes to betting on WoW and being the world’s first.

Every expansion has several different raids and each of them comes with multiple bosses. In order for a guild to become the best of the best, they have to be the first ones to clear all the bosses within a raid. To do so, many guilds prepare for the upcoming raid for months ahead, whether by re-clearing content and staying focused on the game or testing new strategies on the PTR, etc.

Some of the best guilds like Method and Limit, for example, raid for 16 hours a day during progress, making the race to world’s first as exciting as it is.

Mythic+ Runs Betting

While Mythic+ was only implemented during the Legion expansion, it didn’t take long for people in Blizzard to realize just how popular they are among the players. Mythic+ runs are another form of PvE content. However, instead of having to be in the same guild or competing as a team of 20 players, M+ runs are done with five people per team.

The concept is quite similar to running regular Mythic+ dungeons. However, if it were that easy, everyone would be doing it.

The teams that compete in these tournaments have to do high-level keys. On top of that, they have to do it faster than the other team, without actually knowing how well the other team is doing, which we absolutely love since we get to see who cracks and who performs well under pressure.

To prepare, teams try out different comps and prepare strategies, such as deciding which mobs to skip and which ones to pull, and also determining how many they can pull. All in all, it is exciting to watch, especially when there’s some money on the line.

Where Can I Bet on World of Warcraft?

There are numerous places where you can bet on World of Warcraft. If you happen to be from Canada, click here to discover some of the best betting sites Canada has to offer. Note that you can find many other eSport events to bet on.

If you are planning on betting on World of Warcraft, there’s one important thing to keep in mind. Since a lot of these events are time-sensitive, you won’t be able to bet on WoW as often as you might like.

For example, Arena and Mythic+ are only available during BlizzCon, while betting on the world’s first race is available only when a new raid gets released and before it gets cleared, which usually lasts a few weeks.
