Kakao Games and Pearl Abyss recently announced that Black Desert Online (BDO) will be made available on Steam on May 24, to players in North America and Europe. In a ‘Black Desert Online Steam’ FAQ posted on the BDO forums – they announced that sadly, all Steam players will require a new BDO account, meaning that players with existing accounts will not be able to sync their accounts with a Steam account.
Other notable FAQ answers include:
- if you purchase the game on Steam a one-time BDO account registration step during the initial game start will be required which will give access to the game’s website ‘My Account’ page, Help Desk, and Forums
- Steam players will be playing on the same servers as BDO accounts
- Steam wallets can be used to purchase Daum Cash and/or Pearl Items
