A new post on the Black Desert Online forum by a Community Manager announced last night that Kakao received a report that ”account security may have been compromised on a third party website” and as such, certain players that might find that their account password has been reset are advised to also contact Support in order to change their email address:

We strongly urge any user whose password was reset to contact customer support in order to change your e-mail address. Additionally if you used the same or a similar password on any other services, it should be replaced.”

Kakao has not named the ‘third party website’, however Kakao assured players that they ”place paramount concern on matters of security” and have apologized for for any inconvenience the process might cause – announcing that a password reset might take up to 90 minutes and that spamming the reset request might block players’ accounts.
