Extra Life – Play Games Heal Kids – Join the Gaming Angels

If you haven’t already heard about Extra-Life, they organise gaming marathon’s every year to raise donations for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospital’s. If you haven’t heard of the CMN hospital’s then read all about them here.

“On an Autumn Saturday each year since 2008, tens of thousands of gamers have joined together to save the lives of local kids in a celebration of gaming culture that we call Extra Life.  From console games to tabletop RPG’s to even lawn sports, Extra Life gives people that love to play a chance to do what they love to save lives and make a difference.

Originally designed as a 24-hour marathon of gaming, Extra Life has evolved to mean different things to different people (though most of our participants still attempt the marathon).”

RaGEZONE’s very own, Lee Cavanagh helped raise money last year with Extra-Life, and he’s going for it again this year. Of course, he is 100% up to the task, maybe even 200%, I don’t doubt that if needed, Lee could fit 48 hours of gaming into 24. And this time he’s going at it with a team!

Lee has set up a team called The Gaming Angels on the Extra-Life website. You can join the team, play your own monster gaming marathon, and also help get donations for the team. Alternatively you can donate directly, you can send a single donation or even set up recurring monthly donations.

Lee had this to say; “I’m on a mission to save kids and I need your help. My local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital treats thousands of children each year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.

On October 25, 2014, I’ll be participating in this huge worldwide celebration of the social impact of gamers of all kinds from video games to board games and tabletop RPG’s! It’s my sincere hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support my efforts with a monthly pledge or one-time gift that will go directly to my hospital.”
