Last week, Square Enix announced their plans to merge the servers of Final Fantasy XIV from 18 to 10 worlds in  March. It seems that the plans didn’t satisfy players well, especially for the inactive players who were being randomly placed into one of the 10 worlds. After a great deal of feedback from the player base, Square Enix have decided to remove the original merger announcement and they will be re-assessing the method behind the merger process, in order to satisfy the active players.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the wealth of feedback you have provided us with following the announcement made on February 9, 2012 (Thursday), regarding the World merge and character transfers. In order to ensure that the most desirable and effective outcome is achieved, we will be re-assessing the method of the merger process.

New details on the World merge will be made public as they become available in the Topics section of the Lodestone.
